Job Description: Quality Engineering Intern (Manufacturing)
Position Overview
The Quality Engineering Co-ops to supports JGK manufacturing operations and quality initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience with quality assurance practices on the shop floor, including inspections, data analysis, root cause investigations, and process improvement projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, curious, and eager to learn how quality engineering supports production efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze production and quality data, preparing reports on scrap, rework, and defect trends.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) efforts for manufacturing issues.
  • Use attribute and variable gauging to accurately measure parts.
  • Participate in process audits and assist in ensuring adherence to quality standards 
  • Assist with statistical process control (SPC), capability studies, and measurement system analysis (MSA).
  • Help maintain and update work instructions, inspection plans, and control documents.
  • Collaborate with operators, technicians, and engineers to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Gain exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other quality methodologies used in industrial environments.
Qualifications
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with quality tools such as SPC, 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, or FMEA (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to read technical drawings/blueprints and interpret GD&T (a plus).
  • Proficient in data analysis; exposure to Minitab or similar statistical software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on the shop floor.
  • Eagerness to learn in a hands-on manufacturing environment

Pay - $20 - $22/hr.
