Job Summary:

Environmental Operators are responsible for all environmental needs in the shop. This position is a champion for reusing, reducing, and recycling all material possible in a safe and clean manner. Most job responsibilities are performed using a forklift. The job of Environmental Tech is is 100% on the plant floor.

Job Description:

Tasks:

  • Dump chip hoppers using forklift
  • Empty trash cans throughout the shop and rest rooms
  • Cleans restrooms once per shift
  • Mix coolants and add coolant to machines when necessary
  • Breakdown and bale cardboard boxes
  • Check the concentration levels on machines
  • Recycle used coolant in a safe and clean manner
  • Cut filter media for machines
  • Run the floor scrubber
  • Clean coolant tanks

Job Specification:

Competencies:

  • Ability to complete tasks independently
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiply projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
  • Ability to comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
  • Ability to participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years related experience preferred
  • 3+ years experience as a Forklift Operator required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Understanding and knowledge of ISO standards preferred
