Job Summary:

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing all aspects of industrial production equipment maintenance such as CNC machine repair / Machine Rebuilt(mechanical and electrical), automation, general building repairs, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns. The working environment is exclusively on the plant floor.

Job Description:

Tasks:

  • Perform electrical and CNC machine repairs and mechanical alignments
  • Perform repairs on both production and non-production equipment such as broaches, grinders, polishers, etc.
  • Maintain and repair support equipment such as conveyors, elevators, and blenders
  • Complete regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities
  • Move and install machinery and automation components
  • 1. Mechanical Proficiency

· Diagnose and repair mechanical failures (bearings, spindles, slides, ball screws)

· Perform machine alignments and calibrations

· Understand hydraulic and pneumatic systems

2. Electrical and Electronic Knowledge

· Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems (motors, drives, sensors, relays, transformers)

· Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and ladder logic

· Use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools

3. CNC Control Systems

· Familiarity with major CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, Mitsubishi, Heidenhain, Mazak)

· Update and back up machine software and firmware

· Reinstall and configure control systems and PLCs

4. Computer and Network Skills

· Update firmware and install software patches

· Diagnostic and Troubleshooting Abilities

· Systematic problem-solving using root cause analysis

· Perform preventive and predictive maintenance checks

· Analyze machine data and error logs to pinpoint faults

· Properly lockout/tagout (LOTO) machinery during repairs

· Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and parts diagrams

· Communicate effectively with machine operators, engineers, and management

· Document repairs, parts used, and maintenance history accurately

· Certifications and Compliance

· OSHA safety training and awareness

· Certification in electrical safety, precision alignment, or vendor-specific systems

Job Specification:

Competencies:

  • Knowledge of pipe fitting, welding, electrical wiring, and general mechanics
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and schematics
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose machine issues
  • Ability to comply with safety regulations and practice safe working habits

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience working in an industrial maintenance role
  • Experience with pumps (diaphragm and centrifugal) drives e.g. gearbox, belts, chain, hydraulic, couplings, air motors, bearings, shafts, nuts, bolts, taps, and dies
  • Must have experience on CNC machines
  • Electrical experience: High voltage 460 volt 3 phase circuits, motor controls, low voltage
  • Must have work/repair experience on the following equipment: Okuma, Makino, Fuji, broach, Mazak, grinders, Fanuc controls
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and be available for overtime when needed
  • Must be able to work with a diverse group of coworkers
  • Stable work history and ability to come into work on time every scheduled day
